Ranjit “Rolly” Singh Kali-Rai ’92, PharmD, MBA, CPPS earned his doctor of pharmacy from University of the Pacific and his master of business administration from Saint Mary’s College of California. He completed a pharmacy practice residency at VA San Diego Health Care.

A love of science and a desire to serve others in need led him to pursue a career in pharmacy. Dr. Kali-Rai has over 25 years of experience as a health-systems pharmacist, including several leadership positions. In 2018, he transitioned to a career in academia.

Prior to joining the pharmacy practice faculty, Dr. Kali-Rai served as Pacific’s senior director of culture and belonging/ombuds. He is passionate about thoughtful, purposeful diversity, equity and inclusion work because he believes it uplifts the entire community. Within the realm of pharmacy education, DEI work impacts students by fostering an environment where barriers to learning are minimized. For faculty and staff there is a greater sense of connection and purpose. DEI work impacts patients by addressing real and detrimental disparities in health care.

He loves spending time with his son, reading and caring for animals.
